TEHRAN – The foreign ministers of Iran and Turkmenistan engaged in a phone conversation to address the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in tackling regional security challenges.

During their discussion on Wednesday, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Rashid Mardov, Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, reviewed the current state of their bilateral relations and various security matters affecting the region.

Throughout the dialogue, both ministers underscored their commitment to significantly strengthening ties across multiple domains, including political, economic, scientific, and cultural sectors. They also explored strategies for advancing economic and trade relations, as well as ongoing collaboration within regional and international organizations.

Araghchi characterized the relationship between Iran and Turkmenistan as progressing positively and on a constructive path.

Mardov highlighted the recent high-level visits between officials from both nations as indicative of their strong interactions and reiterated the importance of further expanding their bilateral relations.

As neighbors with a history of cooperation, Iran and Turkmenistan have a vested interest in maintaining stability and security in the region.
