Clinton and Obama call on Americans to ‘stand up’ to ICE

Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have called on Americans to “stand up” and “speak out” after federal agents shot and killed 37-year-old nurse Alex Pretti.

Clinton urged readers on X to “show that our nation still belongs to we the people,” while Obama wrote that the shooting should be a “wake-up call” that the U.S.’s “core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.”

This comes after Border Patrol agents killed Pretti in Minneapolis on Saturday.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has reiterated his administration’s support for ICE and has demanded that Minnesota officials comply with the federal agency’s demands.

In a lengthy post addressed to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey Sunday night, the president ordered state authorities to turn over “all illegal aliens” and partner with federal authorities to further the immigration crackdown.

In a separate interview with The Wall Street Journal, the president said his administration was “looking” and “reviewing” all aspects of the case.
Pretti’s shooting comes less than three weeks after an ICE agent killed 37-year-old mother Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.
