Some 425 individuals benefited from IRCS relief services in a week
TEHRAN – The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has provided rescue services to 424 individuals within the last week.

From February 13 to 19, relief teams transferred 235 people to medical centers and treated 37 others on the site. The rescuers conducted 37 technical rescue incidents, freed 27 dead victims, transferred 37 to safe places, and provided emergency accommodation for 10 others, Mehr news agency quoted Mohammad-Hossein Kobadi, an official with the IRCS, as saying.
Medical emergencies, climatic and traffic accidents amounted to 11, 7, and 71 percent of the recorded accidents, respectively. Accidents in mountainous areas were about three percent, and search for the lost individuals accounted for two percent; six percent were attributed to other cases, Kobadi noted.
Referring to climate rescue services, Kobadi said the IRCS teams rescued 22 people who got stuck in the snow and distributed essential goods among 21 individuals.
The rescue teams offered 142 services in mass gatherings and in-person visits. Some 99 were treated at the scene, and 23 were taken to hospitals. They also provided emergency shelter to 14 others, Kobadi noted.
Isfahan, Golestan, and South Khorasan provinces, with 71, 64, and 52 injured people, respectively, had the highest number of casualties.
