Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) fighters attacked Israeli forces operating in neighborhoods to the south of Gaza City with rocket-propelled grenades and mortars, and fired rockets at troops deployed on the Netzarim Corridor further to the south, war monitors report.
