On Monday, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian Parliament, engaged in a conversation with Nabih Berri, the speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, to discuss the current situation in Lebanon.

Expressing hopes for Lebanon's success, Qalibaf remarked that, in line with agreements established during the era of Martyr Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, efforts will be made to facilitate the ceasefire process.

During the call, Nabih Berri expressed gratitude to Qalibaf for his concern regarding Lebanese matters, noting, “We appreciated the attention you demonstrated during your visit to Lebanon.”

Berri highlighted the precarious nature of the current situation in Lebanon, stating, “The Israeli forces have displaced between 1.2 to 1.4 million Lebanese and are attempting to erase entire villages and towns in southern Lebanon from existence.”

The Lebanese Parliament speaker drew parallels between the actions of the Israelis in Gaza and those occurring in southern Lebanon, particularly in the southern suburbs of Beirut and the Bekaa region.

Berri further elaborated that the conditions in Lebanon mirror those in Gaza, asserting that such actions will not deter the Resistance from continuing to fight.

Lebanese official emphasized that the Israeli forces are persistently inflicting harm and destruction upon families during these assaults.

He noted that the significant burden of displacing over 1.2 million people weighs heavily on Lebanon, but with faith and resilience, they will ultimately prevail against the enemy.

Additionally, Qalibaf underscored Lebanon's entitlement to its territorial integrity, asserting that the Zionist regime must promptly withdraw from southern Lebanon and agree to a ceasefire in the region.
