Mehrdad Mohammadi sidelined for three months
TEHRAN – Esteghlal winger Mehrdad Mohammadi suffered a broken tibia and is set for surgery.
Mohammadi suffered the injury in the match against Al Nassr and was forced to leave the field in the 10th minute.
Esteghlal lost to the Saudi Arabian team 1-0 on Matchday 3 of 2024/25 AFC Champions League Elite in Dubai.
He could miss up to three months due to the injury.
Mohammadi’s absence will be a huge blow to Esteghlal.
The Blues sit 11th in the 2024/25 Iran Persian Gulf Professional League table with eight points, eight points shy of leaders Sepahan.
