Anti-ICE rallies sweep across the U.S. after Minneapolis fatal shooting
Demonstrators have marched through major U.S. cities, calling for an end to federal immigration crackdowns and demanding the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The coordinated protests followed the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, a 37yearold Minneapolis nurse, during a federal operation on Saturday.
Large crowds gathered in cities such as Chicago, where activists denounced what they described as escalating federal aggression in immigration enforcement. Protesters carried signs reading “Abolish ICE” and “No More Raids,” while organizers urged lawmakers to dismantle the agencies entirely.
In Minneapolis, thousands marched from the federal courthouse to the site of the shooting, where mourners left flowers and candles in Pretti’s memory. Advocacy groups have questioned the circumstances surrounding his death and are calling for an independent investigation.
Organizers say the demonstrations will continue nationwide, arguing that Pretti’s killing reflects a broader pattern of excessive force tied to federal immigration operations.
