Mohsen Paknejad made the remarks on Sunday during a field visit to one of the Tehran oil depots that was targeted on Saturday night.

The minister stressed: “Despite last night's attack, in which part of the fuel supply infrastructure was hit, with the measures taken and the solutions considered, the sustainable fuel supply will continue. However, it has caused problems that require more cooperation from the people.”

He emphasized: “Our dear people, especially in Tehran, should not worry about fuel supply”, adding, “I ask the people, especially residents of Tehran, to refrain from unnecessary going to fuel stations and help us in managing sustainable fuel in these conditions.

Fuel supply under control

Also, the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company announced in a statement: “During the attack on oil depots in Tehran and Alborz provinces, relying on strategic reserves, activating alternative routes, and pre-determined measures, the issue of fuel supply is under control and there is no concern about the stability of supply.”

This statement reads:

"Despite the damage caused in this sector, relying on strategic reserves and activating alternative routes and pre-determined measures, the issue of fuel supply is under control and there is no concern about the stability of supply.

Therefore, in order to maintain balance in consumption and ensure public access until the full return of distribution capacity, limits on fuel refueling caps will be temporarily applied in some areas affected by this attack, to guarantee fair and sustainable distribution of the fuel needed by compatriots during this transitional period.

We ask dear compatriots to refrain from unnecessary travel and use their personal fuel cards for refueling.
Considering the sufficient capacity of CNG and with the aim of preventing crowding at fuel supply stations, owners of dual-fuel vehicles are advised to refuel at CNG stations."

Necessary measures for fuel supply taken

Meanwhile, the vice president for executive affairs said: “Necessary measures for fuel supply in the country were taken in advance, and so far we have not faced any particular problem in fuel supply.”
