TEHRAN – Attaining sustainable development depends on empowering elites and youth and establishing a management system based on knowledge and meritocracy, Abuzar Shahpari, the head of the Association of Iranian Elites and Knowledge-Based Companies, has said.

While emphasizing the need to leverage the country's scientific and expert capacities, he highlighted the key role of human capital in the country's progress.

“Sustainable development is achieved when knowledge, expertise, and experience play a direct role in decision-making and implementation processes. Therefore, talented young people should have the opportunity to be effective in management roles.”

Stating that meritocracy and transparency are two fundamental pillars of efficient management, he added: "To overcome existing challenges, management structures must be rearranged based on expertise, accountability, and utilizing capable forces."

Synergy between experienced managers and the young, educated generation can pave the way for positive developments in the country and accelerate the path of development, he concluded.
