Heravi House registered on Iran’s national heritage list
TEHRAN – The Heravi House, a historical property in the city of Gorgan in Golestan province, has been registered on Iran’s National Heritage List, officials said.

According to IRIB, Hamid Omrani Rekavandi, deputy head of Golestan’s Cultural Heritage Department, said the registration was approved during a recent meeting of the Office of Registration of Monuments at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts.
He said the Heravi House dates back to the late Qajar period and was built by Hadi Khan Sarreshtehdar, an official of the city of Esterabad, the former name of Gorgan.
“When this house was built, it was on a much larger plot of land than it currently is and consisted of several one-story and two-story buildings with relatively large gardens, where each of Sarreshtehdar’s sons, who were also officials of the city of Esterabad in the late Qajar and Pahlavi periods, lived in a part of it with their families,” he said.
Omrani Rekavandi added that during the second Pahlavi period, additional buildings were constructed in parts of the courtyard or garden of the complex.
He said the complex includes three courtyards and five buildings, two on the northern front, one on the eastern front and one on the southern front. He added that the northern and southern fronts are formed around the courtyard, reflecting the architectural pattern of Qajar-era houses in the region.
