Farabi Cinema Foundation calls on intl. film companies, festivals to denounce attacks on Iran

TEHRAN – Farabi Cinema Foundation, as the national body of Iran cinema, has sent a letter of protest to international film production and distribution entities, global film festivals, and a group of foreign filmmakers, calling on them not to remain silent in the face of injustice and the criminal attacks by the U.S. and the Zionist regime on Iran.

According to IRNA, the text of the letter is as follows:

“We are certain that you are aware of the situation in Iran and the oppression inflicted upon its people and artists. The U.S. and Israel initiated this war by killing over 100 innocent and oppressed children in Minab city, who were studying and learning art. These were angels who became victims of the blatant aggression of countries that claim to support human rights while this act demonstrated just the opposite”.

“We Iranian cineastes expect our friends, artists, and filmmakers around the world to not remain silent in the face of this injustice and to be the voice for oppressed children everywhere”.

“Iran has always stood tall in history, and no tempest can shake its roots. We are the heirs of a civilization that has risen a thousand times from ashes. Your companionship and solidarity with the brave and courageous people of Iran is to stand with the oppressed people who are the inheritors of the most ancient human civilization”.

The U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on February 28 and have so far martyred over 1,000 people including the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several military commanders as well as civilians, among them women and children.

Iran and the U.S. had agreed to attend a fourth round of nuclear talks in Vienna, following their most serious discussions in Geneva. However, the U.S. derailed diplomatic negotiations with Iran just like the previous time in June 2025, launching a bombing campaign against Iran in conjunction with Israel.

The attacks prompted a swift response from the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), with missile and drone launches targeting Israel and several U.S. bases in the region, occurring less than two hours after the strikes, which have been intensified in recent days.
