Alleged rift between Netanyahu and Mossad chief over war on Iran

TEHRAN — Hebrew media reports say a serious dispute has broken out between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Mossad chief David Barnea over the regime’s failing war against Iran.

Alleged rift between Netanyahu and Mossad chief over war on Iran

According to the reports, the rift is so deep that Barnea has not attended meetings with Netanyahu for at least a week. The conflict escalated after Netanyahu accused Barnea of pushing Israel toward a risky confrontation with Iran based on flawed intelligence about Iran’s military strength and internal stability. Mossad rejects this and says its reports were accurate, but Netanyahu decided to attack Iran anyway.

Reports further add that Mossad officials say Barnea had also warned in advance that an open conflict with Iran could expose Israel’s covert networks across the Persian Gulf. They argue that efforts to protect those assets—such as relocating operatives to more secure military facilities—could actually increase the risk of detection and jeopardize critical spy capabilities.
